Afforda Terms of Use

About these terms

By using Afforda, you agree to these terms. Afforda is run by Nikola Lesar, an independent developer based in Croatia ("we", "us"). Contact: support@afforda-app.com.

How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy. If you got Afforda from the App Store, Apple's standard terms for apps also apply.

Afforda is not financial advice

Afforda gives you estimates to help you think about a purchase. It is not financial, legal or tax advice, and we are not financial advisors.

• Verdicts like "Comfortable" or "Risky" are based only on the numbers you enter. If those numbers are wrong or incomplete, the result will be too.
• Loan and running cost figures are rough estimates. Real offers from banks and sellers will be different.
• Cheaper options suggested by AI can be wrong, out of date or unavailable. Always check the price and details with the seller.
• Receipt scanning can misread numbers. Check the amounts before you save.

You make your own decisions about what to buy. For big financial decisions, talk to a qualified professional.

Accounts and shared groups

• You can use Afforda as a guest or create an account. Keep your password safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
• As a guest, most of your data is stored only on your phone (your Split groups are also on our server). If you delete the app or lose your phone, your guest data may be lost. Create a free account to back it up.
• In Split groups and shared trips, members can see and edit group expenses. Amounts, who paid and who owes whom are entered by users; we do not check them and are not part of any payment between you and your friends.
• Only share a group's join code with people you want in the group.

Pro subscription, free trial and AI credits

• The basic "Can I afford this?" check and Split are free. Pro unlocks extra features such as Spending, budget alerts, Plans and AI suggestions.
• Pro is a subscription bought through Apple. The price is shown in the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple account.
• It renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. You can cancel any time in your iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
• A free trial, if offered, turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules.
• AI features are limited. Free accounts get a small number of AI receipt scans in total. Pro includes a monthly number of AI credits and there may be a daily limit. Extra credits, if offered, are used after your monthly ones. Credits have no cash value. A failed AI request does not use a credit.
• We may change features, limits or prices. Price changes for an active subscription follow Apple's rules, and you will be told before they apply.

Fair use

Please don't misuse Afforda. That means no trying to break or overload the app, no guessing other groups' join codes, no automated or bulk use of the AI feature, and no offensive or illegal content in names or expenses. If someone breaks these rules, we may limit or close their access.

Ending your use

You can stop using Afforda and delete your account at any time (Profile → tap your name → Delete account). Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it in your iPhone Settings.

The app "as is"

We work hard to keep Afforda accurate and running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make based on the app, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law, or our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes, we will let you know in the app.

Law

These terms are governed by Croatian law. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep the protections of your local law.
